Maslenitsa is a beautiful Slavic holiday. This celebration lasts for a week. Sometimes they call it the “pancake week”, because everyone has to cook and eat pancakes. Why precisely pancakes? Because pancakes are round and yellow, just like the sun! And the spring is coming 🙂
At the end of this week, on Sunday, there is a beautiful tradition to ask for forgiveness from all close relatives and friends – people call each other or send messages and ask to forgive them for all the bad things they did. And of course, on this day you have to eat pancakes as well!
